2024 Guidance for Teams

Full details of some of the information below is on the ERNA website under the tab 2024 Winter Day Competition.

If you need to clarify anything, please ask. However, remember on Saturday Lila is at Brush Farm until 1pm.

Wet Weather

Please ensure that everyone knows the Wet Weather routine (https://www.ernanetball.com.au/_files/ugd/93dc97_608e47ca184046cbbc28260280bc388d.pdf). Assume you are playing unless otherwise advised. Unfortunately, that usually means that teams playing at 8.00am are on the way, or at the venue, before a decision can be made.

If games are cancelled due to Wet Weather, a notice is put on ERNA Facebook page, and also on the ERNA website. You can also institute a team notification system. eg text / group text / whatsapp  etc

Uniform

Hopefully you have a uniform for the weekend. We have done our best to accommodate those players who are waiting on the delivery of singlets. If not, you need to contact Jessica on 0418 969 841 (text preferred) or bluebelles.uniform@gmail.com very quickly; otherwise, it could be embarrassing.

Behaviour

The Club takes very seriously our obligations re Code of Conduct. A copy of the Club’s Code of Conduct is on this website. It closely follows ERNA/NNSW code of conduct (which are on their respective websites). Also, the Club subscribes to “Play by the Rules – Let Kids be Kids” initiative. Please set an example and ensure players and supporters also comply. This is particularly important this year with all the changes that we will experience.

What happens on a Saturday (for those who are new or may have forgotten)

Remember parking is a pain at both venues; so allow plenty of time. No new parking spaces have appeared magically over the break. If you park in surrounding streets please be aware of the residents rights.

Those playing first or second timeslot - 1st named team take post pads out and collects the scoresheet.

The score sheets will have players’ names already printed on them. If a player’s name does not appear, it means they are not registered to play for this week (there is no one in that situation). Any player who does not play must have their name ruled through.

Appearance

Score Sheet / Scoring

Each team (except 9 White) should provide a scorer - must be at least 15 years old. Both team's scorers should stand together on the sideline in line with the centre circle. Don't forget to check and sign the score sheet on completion of the game.

If there is an issue during the game which warrants a complaint, report it to the Control Centre immediately the issue occurs (umpiring table if it is an umpiring issue). If the issue is not resolved, and you wish for it to be addressed further, do not sign the score sheet. Put the Control Centre number 9876 2190 in your phone.

Winning team returns the score sheet.

Borrowing players

If you borrow a player you are advised not to write their name on the scoresheet until they take the court – but do remember to write them on if they do play.

If you do borrow players: they must be from a lower grade. Their name and playing grade (also Team Number if known) must be recorded on the score sheet.

If in doubt about borrowing a player, PLEASE CHECK WITH LILA as there is a limit to the number of games a player can play outside their original team.

Forfeits

Any team forfeiting needs to do so through Lila – do not contact the other team/club direct – there is a process. 24 hours notice is preferred.

Umpiring

9 White it is umpire your own game. NetSetGo play modified rules which are outlined in the ERNA Handbook - NetSetGo section.

All other umpires are organised by our Umpire Convenor, Caitlin Gerrard. So, put Caitlin’s number 0487 335 197 in your phone. If - for whatever reason - an umpire does not sign on, she can chase it up. Otherwise someone from the team will have to do it or it will be a forfeit.
