2023 Guidance to Teams

Thank you to those who volunteered to be coaches, managers or the contacts for your team. A contact list will be available shortly

Kit Bags

All teams should have their kit bag. If you need anything for your kit bags please contact Ann at bluebelles.equipment@gmail.com.

Uniform

I hope you have your uniform? If not, you need to contact Jessica  bluebelles.uniform@gmail.com or 0418 969 841 (text preferred) very quickly otherwise, it could be embarrassing.

Fixtures

Full fixtures are on ERNA website. An abridged version of fixtures for only MBNC teams is on Marsfield Bluebelles website (as are the results). Go to MBNC.com.au click on the link then select competition then your team.

ERNA Information

Full details of some of the information below is on the ERNA website under the tab 2023 Winter Day Competition.

Wet Weather

Please ensure that everyone knows the Wet Weather routine.  Assume you are playing unless otherwise advised. Unfortunately that usually means that teams playing at 8.00am are normally on the way or at the venue before a decision can be made.

If games are canceled due to Wet Weather, a notice is put on ERNA Facebook page and also on the ERNA website. Managers/Team contacts can give everyone these details. Alternatively, institute a team notification system eg text/group text/whatsapp  or …...

Behaviour

The Club takes very seriously our obligations re ‘Code of Conduct’. A copy of the Club’s Code of Conduct is on our website. It closely follows ERNA/NNSW code of conduct (which are on their respective websites). Also, the Club subscribes to the “Play by the Rules – Let Kids be Kids” initiative. Please set an example and ensure players and supporters also comply.

What happens on a Saturday.

(for those who are new or may have forgotten)

Remember parking is a pain at both venues, so allow plenty of time. No new parking spaces have appeared magically over the break. If you park in surrounding streets please be aware of the residents rights.

Those playing first or second time slot - 1st named team take post pads out and collects the scoresheet.

The score sheets will have players’ names already printed on them. If, for whatever reason, a player’s name does not appear, write it on the scoresheet (sometimes in the first week there is the occasional glitch). Any player who does not play must have their name ruled through.

Appearance

Uniform

Correct uniform is to be worn. Both Meadowbank and Brush Farm Control have sets of bibs if you forget yours. The team can have players wearing any version of the Club’s uniform.

Bike pants may be worn with the body suit but must be no longer than the skirt and must be black or the same colour as the skirt – no leggings or shirts under the bodysuit (unless you are at Brush Farm). Also, part of our uniform is white ankle length socks (not red, striped or any other colour or style), pressure socks should be white. Those wearing the singlets can wear any length leggings or shorts/skirt providing they are plain black.

Players 7,8,9 and 10 year olds at Brush Farm may wear a white or black shirt (long or short sleeved) under their regular uniform. Black leggings/track pants can also be worn.

Score sheet/scoring

Each team (except 8 Green) should provide a scorer (must be at least 15 years old) who should stand together on the sideline in line with the centre circle. Don't forget to check and sign the score sheet on completion of the game.

If there is an issue during the game which warrants a complaint, report it to the Control Centre  immediately the issue occurs (umpiring table if it is an umpiring issue). If the issue is not resolved and you wish for it to be addressed further, do not sign the score sheet. Put the Control Centre number 9876 2190 in your phone.

Winning team returns the score sheet.

Borrowing players.

If you borrow a player you are advised not to write their name on the scoresheet until they take the court, then if you don’t use them, you don’t forget to cross them off and they don’t get credited with playing in a higher grade. But do remember to write them on if they do play.

If you do borrow players: they must be from a lower grade. Their name and playing grade (also Team No if known) must be recorded on the score sheet.

If in doubt about borrowing a player, PLEASE CHECK WITH LILA as there is a limit to the number of games a player can play outside their original team.

Forfeits

Reminder any team forfeiting needs to do so through Lila – do not contact the other team/club direct – there is a process. 24 hours notice is preferred.

You need 5 players from your team to take the court.

Each team is only allowed three consecutive forfeits without penalty, third and subsequent forfeits will incur a $200 fine in the first instance and $100 fine each time thereafter. So, think very carefully if you have to forfeit.

Umpiring

8 Green remember it is umpire your own. NetSetGo play modified rules which are outlined on page 51  of the Handbook.

All other umpires are organised by our Umpire Convenor, Caitlin Gerrard. However, as far as ERNA are concerned each team is responsible for providing their own umpire. So, I suggest you put Caitlin’s number 0487 335 197 in your phone. If - for whatever reason - an umpire does not sign on, Caitlin can chase it up, otherwise someone from the team will have to do it or it will be a forfeit.

If you need to clarify anything, please ask. However, remember on Saturday Lila is at Brush Farm until 1pm, so contact is limited.
